Hutu kingdoms
Note: Although they paid tribute to the Tutsi kingdom of Rwanda at one time or another, these kingdoms were in fact independent states up to the beginning of the 20th century when the Tutsi kings annexed them with German and, later, Belgian assistance. The year of installation of the Rwandese administration is that of the appointment of a Tutsi chief for the whole country. Before, there had already been Rwandese "residents" at the different royal courts or other Tutsi chiefs in parts of the kingdoms.
