Mission time is 1400 hours. PAUSE #14: All right, #8.5, the time.is now 1400 hours. Your mission for today, is to find John Graves. I want you to focus on John Graves. I want you to identify his location, any other hostages at this location, and describe physical security. I want you now to relax. Focus your attention on John Graves. PAUSE +07 #8.5; 1 found him a Few minutes ago. He is sitting. . . on a cement, masonary platform, like a porch of a bUilding. There's two or three posts supporting. . . some kind of roof. It's kind of high on a hill, like, appears to be some kind of fence below ej 100-150 feet away. It smells likerAugust. . . smells like t's time to harvest grain. Don't see anyone else. Way in +10 istance, I think I see a large body of water. It's kind of ellow haze at a distance. I either see a long, wide pier that' eading out into the water, or it's a long, wide runway, dis- ppearing into ground haze, I can't tell. Got a yellow haze. lie's got. . . blue jeans, faded, barefooted. There's a pair of glasses lying beside him. Assume-4~ his. Something funny. Ile's. . . he's playing with some kind of branch of a plant or flower. He~seems very passive. No anxiety. No frustration. I see no physical security other than a f ence. #14: 1 want you now to look around this location. Check it out very carefully and tell me if you -find any other hostages at this location. I'm #8,5: 1 been tryin' to look in -L e building. I'm in troubl- I can't i 1 d ~in~ ~in oubl- I <-LLret ihan one ften even see the building . ere s more than one fenco. More Co. PAUSE +15 #8~15j There's other people here,,,but. . . I can't make out if they're the hostages. I almost have the feeling this is some kind of hospital. Rather primitive. I don't have the feeling of oppression that should be present in a hostage situation. ' I feel completely passive. Don't see any. . . don't see any other hostages. Don't see anything that I rec.- ognize as guard force. It's as if he-doesn't care anymore and they know he doesn't care. At least they're not worried about him escaping. And he's not, not concerned about it either . . . I have the distinct feeling that I'm not in a big city. Rural, more rural area. More open. Buildings predom- +25 inately one or two stories. PAUSE #8.5: 1 had some ... but I'm not getting it. Symbols of-passive be- havior. Examining hands, looking at nails. Passive boredom. #14: Okay. I have no further questions. We're ready for debrief. #8.5: Yeah. PAUSE #14. I'm going to stop and change the tape at this time so we can maintain continuity. PAUSE #14: He was sitting on something on some kind of masonary porch. Had some. kind of overhead to it. I tried to get a look at it and I couldn It. I couldn't tell what it was he was looking on- or sitting on. PAUSE #14: Barefooted. I haven't drawn this, but down below him there appeared to be a fence of some kind going down the hill, across belo And wa out here in the distance I could see so ing that oo e i e , omething going way off in the haze, like a runway, or a big pier r something going way Out in the haze, it's hard to see through, and it's great, great distance out there. I'm not indicating that distance very well. And there's hills. I had the feeling that I was looking at water as a yellow.haze, and it was almost like a mirage, and I toyed with it for a long time, trying to figure out whether I was looking at a pier or a runway, running out intb haze. I saw a pair of glasses lying nearby, I thought they might have been his. And I saw a wheelchair, and I had the feeling he was in it. At one point I had the feeling that he was tied to the wheelchair or was maybe hdhdcuffed in the wheelchair, I couldn't make it out. I didn't want to, I didn't know if it was overlay or what it was, it was bothering me. I really didn't see anything that Would identify the building. I could see the right side of the building, it was some kind of masonry, it looked like the walls were about 18 inches to 2 feet 2 Qlar- lb W1 N" I Approved For Release 2000108108: CIA-RDP96-00788ROO2100300001-6 Approved For Release 2000/08/08: ClAAQ*Vo,-W 0001-6 #8.5: thick. One-corner I eaw had bits of stone sticking out of it, it was perhaps a rather old, old structure, and I thought it lwww was some kind of hospital of.something. There was.a few build- ings down here in the nearground, but this thing way out there looked G"big, and went way, way.out, into the desert, or way out into water, I'm not sure what. That's about it. #14: Okay. End of session.
