ABADDON, or APOLLYON, the destroyer; the name ascribed (Rev. ix. 11.) to the angel of the abyss, or Tartarus, L e. the angel of death. He is represented as the king and head of the Apocalyptic locusts under the fifth trumpet, Rev. ix. 11. See Locust.
