< Philemon 1 >
Author: St. Paul
Date written: 50-70AD Introduction Philemon, as it happened, was one of the believers; he lived in the city of Colossae. His slave, Onesimus by name, had stolen something and made off, and fell into the apostolic net. Now, at that time the divinely-inspired Paul was in prison in Rome. It was there, then, that he granted him saving baptism, and sent this letter to his master. (Theodoret of Cyrus) |
